Avidity IP, formerly HLBBShaw, is a firm with four offices, in Birmingham, Reading, Cambridge and Epping. It also has meeting point offices in Durham, Leeds and Mountain View, California. Its 30 fee-earners are led by CEO and senior attorney Malcolm Lawrence, with the focus on patent and trade mark prosecution.
A highlight piece of work for the firm this year involved Lawrence who, alongside Marc Wilkinson and Gemma McGeough, managed to obtain a revocation of a competitor's patent for 3M. This completed in September 2012.
Other clients include Nirvana Spa and Galaxy Biotech, in addition to Dyson, Panasonic and Daiichi.
