In an impressive achievement this year, Nahm represented HSBC Holdings in a court case regarding registrability of the HSBC pattern. The Patent Court and Supreme Court recognised the distinctiveness of the client's mark. Nahm further assisted Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada in an opposition procedure against a third party's mark. The opposition was admitted as a result of the reputation of the client's mark.
In yet another highlight for the group, Kangsan Construction Company looked to Jung-Ho Choi's guidance in responding to a criminal action for patent infringement at the Criminal Court as well as a patent invalidation trial and patent scope trial at the Korean Intellectual Property Tribunal. The company was found not guilty of patent infringement.
