With a wave of new clients this year, Gintasset is one of the country's up-and-coming performers, according to peers. Managing partner Le Giang's team received favourable responses from foreign partners not only over the quality of the firm as a local patent and trade mark filer, but also as a strong litigator. For example, Gintasset worked in tandem with Hogan Lovells on the cancellation of a registration by Kien Viet Co on the Coservil mark in pharmaceuticals class 5, on behalf of well-known mark owner Biofarma. Also with Hogan Lovells, the firm created a precedent in registering well-known trade marks in Vietnam by appealing against NOIP's decision that Guess's mark was indistinctive. Other clients who have sought the firm's services over the past year on Customs and trade mark issues include Japanese battery maker Sanyo.
