Entering its second year in the rankings, OMC Abogados & Consultores is a new firm that is building a name for itself in Peruvian IP circles. Initially founded as an IP boutique, the firm has been incorporating lawyers with expertise in other disciplines over the last two years with the aim of becoming a full-service practice. It also recently moved to new, more spacious, offices. Clients described reasonable fees and a pleasant working relationship.
Both clients and peers singled out managing partner Oscar Mago for praise. One competitor remarked: "He is a very respectable attorney." A client of the firm said: "I think he is very good in his area." The firm has recently represented Grupo Sancor Seguros in appealing a trade mark office rejection of the Sancor Seguros mark. It has also been appointed to represent Diamante Peru in an unfair competition action over its mark Diamante Peru and advised food and drink company Vitasoy in an opposition procedure against a competitor's application to register the trade mark Vitadrink.
