Making its debut in the rankings following the introduction of the new copyright category this year, Rangel y Rangel is a small firm that is acknowledged by peers as "very big on copyright law". The firm specialises in intellectual property but also practises in commercial, corporate and administrative law.
Partner Horacio Rangel-Ortiz, who was once a member of Uhthoff Gomez Vega & Uhthoff, has had over 130 articles and studies on intellectual property published in legal periodicals in 15 countries. One competitor described him as "one of the most respected lawyers in Mexico". Another said: "He's most focused in international law and I think he's very recognised for his work. Every IP student knows about him." Partner David Rangel-Ortiz frequently works with European and US clients. "It's very common to see him as an expert witness in trials," said one rival. "He knows a lot about IP from an international point of view."
