Reinhold Cohn & Partners keeps its position in tier one for patent and trade mark prosecution. The firm is one of the biggest in both fields and, as one competitor says, "it is handling all things coming into Israel". The firm also distinguishes itself from some competitors by its more modern approach and progressive structure. "It does develop the younger generation of practitioners and is doing a good job with them," says one peer. The firm is linked to IP litigation firm Gilat Bareket & Co within the Reinhold Cohn Group. The firm, headed by a team of seven senior partners including managing partner Bossmat Gonen, has a large portfolio of clients and worked on many cases through 2010. In large mandates, senior partner Ehud Hausman and team handled a major part of Israel Aerospace Industries' and subsidiary Elta Systems' national and international patent portfolio and advised on strategic IP issues. Hausman and patent attorney Inna Novikova manage and advise on Storwize's portfolio of 35 pending and granted patents, while senior partner Ena Pugatsch has been supporting Plasan armoured vehicle solutions on a great part of its patent portfolio, providing advice on oppositions and IP strategy. Other recent clients have included Yissum, Ferring Pharmaceuticals and Tiny Love. Senior partner and head of life sciences Dr Ilan Cohn was also busy handling portfolios for the list of pharmaceutical companies on the firm's books.
