Opened in 2003, Isenbruck Bösl Hörschler is a relatively young prosecution firm which has wasted no time in establishing a name for itself. The firm's good reputation for quality in patent prosecution is matched, unusually, by an impressive output with the firm counting itself among the leading PCT filers in the country. Its specialism is biotechnology and it has expertise in chemistry, physics, mechanics and electrical engineering. While best known for its patent work it also covers trade mark and design protection. The firm has a staff of 23 fee-earners who work across offices in Mannheim, Munich and Düsseldorf. Some key clients are Sanofi Pasteur, Cephalon, BASF, Meiko Maschinenbau and Robert Bosch.
A spate of recommendations from peers sees the firm move into tier 2 for patent prosecution. "I've worked with some partners of Isenbruck, and having seen the quality of their work I would say they belong more to tier 2 than tier 3," insists one.
