The 20-member IP team of Zhejiang T&C Law Firm has established itself as the leader in internet copyright protection, broadcasting media, software and mobile and digital television-related IP issues in the region. It initiated a cooperation network for the internet copyright protection of TV series and movies in the country, which has been joined by more than 35 law firms from 27 provinces. Until now, the firm has obtained licences for over 400,000 hours of movies and TV series for clients including TVB (HK), Shaw Brothers Hong Kong, Media Asia, ChinaFilm Group and Zhejiang Television Group. In August 2010, Microsoft engaged the firm in a series of copyright infringement actions in relation to pirated software of its Windows and Office programs. The team is often called upon in trade mark infringement and unfair competition cases, particularly by electric and home appliances companies in the province.
