Schönherr Rechtsanwälte's strong position in Europe has given the law firm a solid book of business in intellectual property, maintaining national and international clients from 185 countries. The team is led by Christian Hauer and Guido Kucsko, both of whom are well respected by peers and clients. One client says that Kucsko is a "clear and precise lawyer who always looks to achieve targets". The firm's strength in depth is also noted, with attorney Sascha Salomonowitz advising US pharmaceutical company Pfizer in a trade mark infringement case against Styriagra. The Austrian Supreme Court upheld the claim of Pfizer that the term Styriagra infringed the famous trade mark Viagra. In another important case Christian Hauer represented Pago International at the Court of Justice of the EU over its Community trade marks. The court confirmed that the use of the mark in just one member state was sufficient for protection across the EU. The firm did, however, lose Robin Lumsden who joined Fiebinger Polak Leon & Partner as a partner.
