Redd Solicitors is a firm that is extremely well spoken of by other practitioners in the market, especially on the trade mark side.
"Redd would be the first call I would make if I was looking at a contentious trade mark matter," says one attorney, while another thinks other firms should be watching their backs: "Redd is very impressive. Anna Carboni there is very good. I think other firms will be looking at Redd and seeing them coming up very fast."
A law firm, which does no prosecution or portfolio management, Redd has one office in London, with 12 lawyers. Its clients include Microsoft, Honeywell International and Leica Camera.
Much of the firm's high-level work remains confidential, but a good representative case for the firm's patent team sees Sara Ashby and Duncan Ribbons acting for Leica as they seek a counterclaim revocation of a patent in an infringement action brought by Swarovski Optik. This dispute is slated for trial in April 2013.
