ECV & Asociados is a growing IP boutique which has earned a reputation as a small but well-respected player in the Venezuelan IP market. The firm was founded 15 years ago by Enrique Vera Cheang and Marianella Montilla Ríos, both lawyers, and Carlos Terra Recayte, who has a background in electronic engineering.
As a result of steady growth, the firm recently relocated to larger offices in Caracas. It provides services in trade marks, patents, copyright, trade secrets, unfair competition, licensing, technological contracts and franchising, along with the enforcement of IP rights. Competitors held the practice in high regard and identified partner Enrique Vera Cheang as the force behind its expansion. "I think they are a good practice," said one rival. "They treat their clients well. I know Enrique well and he's a very competent guy."
