D'Empaire Reyna Abogados is a general practice firm with a notable IP department. Founded in 1972, the firm represents pharmaceutical companies in patents and confidential data matters in Venezuela and the Andean Community. Since 1996, it has had an association agreement with Bolet & Terrero with respect to its intellectual property work.

Although the firm lost José Ramón Fermín to Bolet & Terrero in 2008 it retains some 40 attorneys, including 17 partners. Some are part-time professors in law at leading Venezuelan universities and several members are licensed to practise in the State of New York as well as in Venezuela.

The firm counts leading multinationals amongst its clients, including several Fortune 500 companies and major Venezuelan businesses. The IP group is headed up by partner José Humberto Frías, an antitrust expert who has worked with the Venezuelan antitrust authority, Procompetencia.
