Bolet & Terrero

World IP Survey Coverage: Print-friendly version

Editorial coverage

Venezuela

Bolet & Terrero opened offices in several Latin American countries long before globalisation became a fashionable concept. Founded in 1915, the firm is an established presence in Venezuela's IP community. It deals with all areas of intellectual property and corporate law and has made a particular name for itself in trade marks and copyright.

The firm is known for the volume of work it handles. One competitor remarked: "The big firm here is Bolet at the moment. It is the oldest IP firm in Venezuela." Another peer described the firm's members as "decent people and decent competitors".

The firm benefits from the expertise of legal coordinator José Ramón Fermín, formerly of affiliated firm D'Empaire Reyna Abogados, who became a full-time member of Bolet & Torrero in 2008 after previously splitting his time between the two firms.
