Groth & Co is one of the oldest firms in the market. It is led by head of law and trade marks Mats Lundberg and head of patents Leif Karlsson. The firm has an office in Beijing and was one of the first to begin cultivating ties with Chinese IP firms. Notably, partner Johan Sjöbeck is a member of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center's Domain Name Panel.
In 2011, trade mark attorneys Anette Henrysson and Lundberg were representing Fiedler & Lundgren in its opposition to Swedish Match's trade mark get-up registration for the packaging of 'snus' (snuff). It has been a long running case and a decision is expected by the end of 2011.
The firm's Spanish consultants, Ruth Almaraz Palmero and Agustin Almaraz, will represent Spanish and Israeli company Grupo Promer, part of PPI Worldwide, before the Court of Justice for the EU against Pepsi and OHIM in a case concerning Community designs. The case tackles principals at the centre of the regulation on community designs.
