Danowsky & Partners is consistently considered by competitors the outright leading firm for copyright work and media. It also has a well-respected and leading trade mark practice.

In 2010 Ulf Isaksson and Ann Nilsson represented Vitamin Well, a producer of vitamin water, in a trade mark infringement action against its competitor Friggs. Friggs had launched a vitamin water called Vitamino Beauty, despite the fact that Vitamin Well held the trade mark registration for Vitamin Beauty. The Stockholm District Court ordered Friggs to cease sales, after which Vitamin Well added a claim for damages to its action. Vitamin Well received damages and costs amounting to SKr125,000 ($19,000).

Firm profile

Danowsky & Partners is a leading legal advisor to enterprises in technology, media, entertainment, communication, sports, energy and other growth industries. The firm provides straight forward, focused and result oriented services in complex matters. We are top ranked in several of our key areas.

Our organisation is structured to enable us to provide personal and experienced advice to each individual client. We have a balance of senior and junior lawyers which creates efficiency and avoids the risk of projects being overstaffed or delegated to lawyers with limited experi- ence. In addition, it ensures the right expertise, personal commitment and availability.

All of our lawyers have broad experience in corporate and commercial law. Our younger lawyers are trained to become well-rounded gene- ralists before focusing their practice on a particular area. We believe that having a broad base of knowledge is becoming increasingly important and increases a lawyer's ability to see possibilities and challenges in complex matters which tend to span several traditional legal disciplines. It also helps our lawyers to develop practical and relevant subject matter expertise.
