ZBM Patentes has three offices in Spain and is well-established in Tier one for patent prosecution. The firm grew in 2010 with the hire of patent attorney and associate Margarita Hoic from rival firm Ungría Patentes y Marcas. The firm has recently attracted a number of new clients from the US and South America for patent prosecution before the EPO. The firm's attorneys have extensive experience providing technical assistance in IP litigation cases. Bernabé Zea recently worked alongside a leading IP law firm to advise a group of generics companies including Cantabria Pharma, Adamed, Milo, Bexal, Acost and Milan, to revoke a preliminary injunction by Lundbeck over the drug escitalopram. As well as Zea, Anna Barlocci, Carles Comes, Sergi Servián and Mathieu de Rooij have also worked on large litigation cases.
In high-profile work, Carles Comes helped Sony's Europe and Spain arms acquire a preliminary injunction that stopped certain products, which were using unlocked Sony console devices, being marketed. In 2011 Anna Barlocci was representing Sportzone España in a litigation case started by Decathlon. Other recent clients include Teva, Ferrer International and Nycomed.
