Editorial coverage

South Korea

YP Lee Mock & Partners is the largest IP boutique in Korea, with more than 120 patent and trade mark attorneys, over 200 patent engineers and two full-time litigators. Peers recognise the firm for its prowess in prosecution work and its strong domestic client base, which includes Samsung as a top client. Several other well-known companies that turn to the group for IP matters include Nokia and Renault.

The firm's contentious practice has been boosted as a result of an alliance with full-service outfit Yulchon, which outsources work and cooperates with the team on a number of court cases. A recent example saw the group work with Yulchon in the representation of Daewoong Pharmaceuticals in a patent infringement suit. Managing partner Youngpil Lee is a key contact with nearly 30 years of experience in the IP industry.
