History
Sojuzpatent is the oldest and the most known law firm in the Russian market of patent and trademark services. Its history began in 1922 with the establishment of a Patent Bureau within the All-Union Chamber of Trade and for 70 years Sojuzpatent has been the only firm in the former USSR authorized to deal with protection of the intellectual property of the foreign companies. Sojuzpatent is playing an important role in forming Russian IP case law. Many of our cases are now referred to as precedents. Our attorneys are involved as experts from the private sector in the developments (and amendments) of the Russian IP regulations.
Traditional cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, which embraces more than 170 regional chambers, opens unique opportunities for IP rights protection of our clients in all regions of this country.

Sojuzpatent provides Russian and foreign clients with the full range of services in IP objects protection. Currently the staff of Sojuzpatent consists of 100 highly-skilled specialists including 45 registered Russian and Eurasian patent attorneys, trademark attorneys and lawyers. Our patent and trademark attorneys and IP lawyers are highly qualified to resolve any IP issue arising in Russia and the CIS. Our patent and trademark attorneys cover with their expertise all fields of science and technology.
The close cooperation of patent and trademark attorneys with our IP lawyers results in a unique approach to application prosecution when we try to ensure maximum protection of IP objects during patenting and registration keeping in mind possible future enforcement against infringement. The high quality of the services rendered by Sojuzpatent is conditioned by professionalism of the patent attorneys and lawyers as well as by the applied modern and highly productive automation system.
Sojuzpatent is concentrated on international IP services by representing foreign clients in Russia and the CIS countries (on prosecution and litigation) and by providing services for Russian companies on patenting and trademark registration abroad. To effectively assist clients for their needs in different parts of Russia we are operating several local representative offices (in the cities of Vologda, Astrakhan, Kostroma, Kirov, Novosibirsk) mainly oriented on trademarks' legal protection.
Technology transfer
To encourage the cooperation between Russian organizations and their potential foreign business partners in the field of commercialization of patented inventions and also to promote the objects of the intellectual property (inventions, know-how, technologies, projects and scientific search results) on Russian and international markets Sojuzpatent has established an affiliate company Licentech.
