Peru

Estudio Osterling has been a major player in the Peruvian legal market for over 30 years. Though the practice covers various areas of law, the IP department aims to provide a boutique-style service with personalised attention. The firm represents market leaders including GlaxoSmithKline, L'Oréal, Sanofi-Aventis, Cabinet Degret and Rimac Internacional Compañia de Seguros y Reaseguros.

Founding partner Felipe Osterling Parodi is a former president of the Senate of Peru for the centre-right Partido Popular Cristiano (the Christian People's Party). He has been decorated by the Peruvian State and by the Congresses of the Republics of Peru, Bolivia and Chile, and has received the San Raimundo de Peñafort Medal in the degree of Grand Cross by order of his Majesty, the King of Spain, in July 1981. Though he is no longer active in politics he remains a member of the party and is the president of its National Consulting Council. IP partner Arturo Tello Diaz is a former CEO of the National Confederation of Private Entrepreneurial Institutions (CONFIEP).

The firm has an ongoing collaboration with the NGO-Ciudadnos, which promotes citizen participation. Recent pro-bono projects also include working with the Maria Reiche Foundation to contribute to the conservation of Peru's historic Nazca Lines.
