Amjad Al Amad leads the IP department at Trimark, which climbs up a tier this year after positive feedback in the market. "Trimark is leaving its footprint in Jordan," comments one rival partner.
In September, Al Amad advised Fine Hygienic Paper on an alleged infringement of its trade mark by two companies in South Asia. The client's products are now available in more than 30 countries, leading to an increase in the amount of international trade mark protection work Trimark is being called on to do on its behalf.
The firm experienced a steady growth in patent applications in 2010, but saw a decrease in trade mark applications – though it is expecting this work to pick up in early 2011.
Over the past 12 months the firm has seen particular growth in IP work among clients in the textiles, pharmaceutical and food sectors. Competitors note that Trimark is a firm that is increasing its presence among these sectors: "It is becoming more visible in the market and more of a name that is being recognised; it is definitely a firm to watch out for." Another adds: "It is a young firm, but has really increased its presence in the market over the past few years."
On this note, partner Amjad Al Amad is continuing his efforts to create the Intellectual Property Consulting Global Alliance (IPCG Alliance), a group of practitioners from all over the world that will provide its IP services through independent members. Trimark has also been kept busy increasing its international presence in America by establishing Trimark Intellectual Property – USA.
