Italy

Jacobacci & Partners has six offices in Italy and two in Spain. The team is led by patents partner Paolo Crippa and trade mark and anti-counterfeiting partner Carlo Alberto Demichelis. The practice increased by two associates during 2010. It is an active participant in IP training schemes and in the Brussels European Committee. In 2010 the firm, led by Massimo Introvigne, created a trade mark protection strategy for Moncler (aimed especially at cyber counterfeiting) and helped Microsoft recover the domain name Windows7 from a cyber-squatter who had registered the name before the system appeared.

Giuseppe Quinterno assisted YKK Corporation in a patent infringement case before the Milan Appeal Court and defended Fioravanti against a patent opposition by Renault. A final case saw Elena Monte defend a Community trade mark for Seat Pagine Gialle before OHIM. The firm works often with its sister company Studio Legale Jacobacci Sterpi Francetti Regoli De Haas & Associati.


Spain

Italian firm Jacobacci & Partners has two offices in Spain, focused primarily on IP contentious and trade mark work. It also counts two patent attorneys. Throughout 2010 the firm was busy working on multiple trade mark and patent licences and lien contracts for the General Motors Group and handling IP issues for clients Danone and Nike. Other regular clients include Pepsi, Schweppes and MasterCard.
