The firm advised the Shell group and Shell brands in a trade mark matter relating to the extensive use and reputation of the Shell mark against a party using Shell as part of its trading name for the export of textiles and products such as cushions and bed covers. Though the original order by a single judge of the Delhi High Court went against the client, an appeal to the division bench led to the setting aside of the order and a remanding of the matter for a fresh hearing. This matter was decided in September 2010.
