"The firm is catching up very fast and is able to adjust to the market. The services and advice are accurate, fast and correct," says a client of Kangxin Partners PC. Active in prosecution, the firm is one of the largest PCT filers in China. It frequently hosts IP events and lectures at training programmes to raise its profile overseas.

On the contentious side, Mike Chen led a team for Swarovski in a seizure against an infringer who was selling and producing semi-manufactured crystals similar to Swarovski's patented design without authorisation. The infringer agreed to a mediation package, paid a large sum as compensation and issued a public apology to the client.

Another client engaged Gloria Wu to help get approval to register its mark before the TRAB. The opponent alleged that the client had copied the design of its mark and it would cause confusion among consumers as the two are too similar. Wu argued that the design of the client's mark would not cause confusion and it is not a copy of the opponent's mark by explaining the client's design concept and background. One client recommends Wu and the firm's work: "Gloria speaks very good English and is very competent. Kangxin is skilled and also understands the commercial interest of its clients."
