Though not the biggest law firm in Argentina, G Breuer is widely recognised as one of the best. Founded in 1869, this general practice law firm was described by competitors as being one of the nation's "clear leaders" in intellectual property. Its impressive list of clients includes household names such as Disney, L'Oréal, PepsiCo, adidas and Cadbury and it recently began working with Nintendo. Clients reported "very good experiences" with G Breuer and one patron has been loyal to the firm since 1881.
In July 2010, G Breuer suffered the sad loss of partner Ángel Paracha, a well-respected figure in IP circles, who passed away after working at the firm for more than 70 years. Paracha managed the firm's local clients in trade mark prosecution alongside partner Alejandro Breuer, who handled its international clients. Breuer has now taken over as head of the trade mark department.
Peers repeatedly made reference to the firm's knowledgeable attorneys and high quality of work. "We like G Breuer because the relationship between the size and the attention to the work is very good," said one competitor. "It is not very big, it has a very good business and it has very reliable." Another rival admitted: "I do acknowledge that it is the best in Argentina." In particular, partner Jorge Otamendi was described as "very well known, very well-recognised and very active in IP work."
