Founded in 1987, the firm specialises in IP, but also deals with corporate law, competition law, civil litigation, criminal and administrative law. Partner José Luís Caballero was universally acknowledged as "a real expert" on the subject and "one of the best copyright lawyers in the country". One competitor admitted: "They are without a doubt number one in copyright."
The firm is also well known for its work in patents and trade marks. Partner Mauricio Jalife is a respected academic who has published over 900 articles and five well-known books on IP. He has been appointed as an expert on various patent and trade mark issues by the Superior Court of Justice to the City and writes a column for the magazine Inversionista Mexicano y Mercados (Mexican Markets Investor).
