Müggenburg Gorches Peñalosa y Sepúlveda is a dynamic new firm that has rapidly gained a reputation as having one of the best litigation teams in Mexico. The firm was launched several years ago when members left Creel García-Cuellar y Müggenburg to form the new venture. "They are excellent litigators in patents and trade mark matters," said one peer. "As a law firm and a team they are very interesting. They are probably the only ones I don't want to have as competitors." The firm also drew praise from clients. "I think they know trade mark law extremely well – there's no question about it," said one long-term patron. He added: "I have used pretty much every firm in Mexico and I think Müggenburg is the best for trade marks."

Partner Jean-Yves Peñalosa was singled out for praise by clients, who said he "has done an amazing job". Partner Carlos Müggenburg was described as "the father of trade mark law" by one patron, who said: "If you need someone to get through to someone, Carlos is the man. He knows everyone." The firm does pro-bono work for organisations including Bufete Jurídico Gratuito Social AC (Universidad Panamericana) and Colegio Junípero y Christel House. Clients include Dell, Anheuser-Busch and Collective Banks (formerly Payless ShoeSource).
