"When diverse legal issues are called upon, it is able to draw expertise from different teams," said a client of Winners Law Firm on the benefits of engaging a full-service firm. Another also notes its impressive service: "In addition to legal analysis, it also reminds us of the potential impact on crisis management and public relations."

Unlike traditional IP work, the firm distinguishes itself for its expertise in strategic advisory services, licensing agreements and commercial transactions. It advised Jiuzhou International Building Materials when a leading US building material chain offered the value of its trade marks as subscribed capital to establish a joint venture with Jiuzhou. The firm worked on reverse due diligence and resolved the uncertainty over the localisation of foreign trade marks during the assessment of Jiuzhou's intangible assets.

In a high-value transaction, Xu Yanzhao and He Yunxia led the team acting for a well-known chemical company in a technology import transaction in relation to the construction of a chemical plant with a Danish company. The case involved importation of large-scale equipment, worth Rmb1.5 billion ($227.5 million). Tianjin Soda Plant also mandated the firm in a technology and trade mark licence agreement that it concluded with chemical producer Solvay Participants France, valued at Rmb1 million. In another highlight the firm delivered an overall IP protection strategy for Tianjin Santroll Electric Science & Technology, which included the assessment of patent applications, the establishment of core patent pools and patent defence systems. Finally, the firm helped a real estate developer to settle a dispute over alleged unauthorised use of a trade mark that was owned by a Singapore company and avoid court proceedings.
