Krogerus is known in IP circles for its strength in trade mark disputes. The IP practice is a mix of lawyers and attorneys, split roughly 60% to 40% respectively, who advise on contentious and non-contentious work in patents and trade marks. The full-service firm has a large domestic network of six offices including its base in Helsinki. Rautaruukki, DNA, ABB, Talentum and HKScan are some of its clients.

In 2012, the firm was representing Rautaruukki in the long-running, multi-jurisdictional trade mark and trade name dispute, which includes validity and infringement issues, against the Ruukki Group over the Ruukki trade mark.

In another longstanding, ongoing case Tuukka Airaksinen, Arto Hakkarainen, Mikko Elonheimo and JP Alho have been defending DNA against infringement and validity hearings relating to the former's magenta colour-CTM registration.
