A notable matter for the firm was its representation of client Yong Teng Hing in a trade mark matter opposite Walton International. The issue concerns the mark Giordano, which was filed by the client and opposed by Walton International. Though the opposition was first dismissed by the Registrar of Trade Marks, after subsequent appeals to the High Court and the Court of Appeal, the Court of Appeal sided with Walton International in August 2010. The firm has filed an application for leave to appeal to the Federal Court with the decision yet to be delivered at the time of writing.
