Boutique firm Deep & Far is probably best known in the market for its representation of Achem Corporation in a patent invalidation case concerning the knife-free adhesive tape patent that was filed in 1971. Although the patent should have expired in 1981, Achem challenged its validity in 1996 to try to overturn the decision that it has infringed on the patent. The firm has been advising the client since 1996 and the case is pending at the Supreme Administrative Court. Another highlight for the firm recently was obtaining favourable judgement in the Taichung District and High Court to enforce a US judgement for tort damages of $1.25 million.
