Perkins Coie is a growing force in the IP market, having opened offices in San Diego and Madison, Wisconsin, and adding a number of lateral attorneys in the last year. Getty Images, Adobe Systems and Boeing seek the firm's trade mark expertise. Firm co-chair Michael Warnecke, previously a consultant to the Peoples Republic of China in drafting revisions to its IP laws, was noted by peers for his patent work. The firm has counselled Adobe on trade mark matters for 18 years, with Lynne Graybeal handling 2,000 filings. Graybeal is also assisting Washington Mutual with the maintenance and potential sale of its portfolio following the largest bank failure in US history, Washington Mutual Bank.
