A player in the so-called smartphone wars, K&L Gates is representing Eastman Kodak Company in the ITC and federal court proceedings in three states regarding patents the company asserts Apple and RIM have infringed. The patents involve technology used in the iPhone and Blackberry. The firm's trade mark group handles the clearance, searching, prosecution and enforcement work for Expedia and its subsidiaries.


Poland

The old Hogan & Hartson team did not move with Lovells in May 2010, but instead joined American law firm K&L Gates Jamka. The firm kept its clients in an amicable agreement with its former employees. Oskar Tulodziecki, who is heading up the team at the new firm, says: "Hogan & Hartson was very helpful. We have continued under the new flag without too much disruption." The IP department has seven people, Tulodziecki and six associates. The firm has been involved in the entertainment sector including Hollywood motion pictures.
