Jeong Yeol Choe and Hyeong Joo Lim successfully defended Hanil Engineering & Construction in an infringement action over a patent for a construction technique that stops soil from sliding on slopes. The plaintiff petitioned the court to ascertain the scope of its patent. The IP Tribunal ultimately found the invention could be made from ordinary skill and dismissed the complaint.
In another victory, Choe & Lim acted for Daewoong Pharmaceutical in bringing an infringement suit against a competitor, who sold the client's patented Albis, a drug used for stomach disorders. A preliminary injunction was granted to Daewoong, which also won a subsequent invalidation suit filed by the competitor.
