De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek sustained losses across its practice. The highly regarded Simon Dack, Joris van Manen and Marlou van de Braak left to join Hoyng Monegier, while Constant van Nispen, who retired, and Madeleine de Cock Buning, who joined the Dutch media watchdog, also left the firm. Five other associates left to join other rivals and to set up their own respective practices.
Still there, however, is Tobias Cohen Jehoram, whose considerable reputation in trade marks was enough to keep De Brauw at the top of the contentious table. Nevertheless the market agreed that although Gertjan Kuipers is still there, Dack will be missed. One competitor described him as irreplaceable.
